PT FSTJ Begins to Plant Garlic in Cianjur

PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya (FSTJ) began planting garlic in Cianjur District, West Java on last Friday.

Garlic is planted on a 15-hectare land

It is related to the Agriculture Regulation Minister No. 38/PERMENTAN/HR.060/11/2017 on recommendations on the import of horticultural products (RIPH) mentions that every importer of horticulture products is required to plant 5 percent of the total proposed.

PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya President Director, Arief Prasetyo Adi stated that garlic planting is cooperating with a number of farmers and farmer companion from the Garuda Yaksa Nusantara Cooperative in Cianjur District, West Java.

Garlic Price Remains Expensive

"Garlic is planted on a 15-hectare land," he expressed, Monday (9/3).

He explained that it is precisely done in Hegarmanah Village, Takokak, Caringin, and Cijeruk.

By doing so, it is hoped that Food Station could reduce garlic import dependence gradually.

"It is also hoped able to move the agricultural economy in production centers with a combination of farmer groups (Gapoktan) and cooperatives," he said.
